La Roche-Posay Serums & Anti-Ageing Ireland
The LRP serum range covers the most clinically validated active ingredients in skincare — retinol, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and tranexamic acid. Each is formulated with the same tolerance-focused approach as the rest of the LRP range, meaning higher concentrations are achievable without the irritation common in other brands.
“The rule I give every patient starting serums: one active at a time, introduce slowly, and SPF every morning without exception. Retinol and vitamin C increase photosensitivity — without daily SPF50 you are undoing part of the benefit.”

Aidan’s Serum Picks
-
Retinol B3 Serum 30ml — Buffered retinol better tolerated than most. Start 3 nights/week, build to nightly over 4–6 weeks. Always pair with Anthelios SPF50 in the morning.
-
Mela B3 Dark Spot Serum 30ml — Niacinamide + tranexamic acid (previously prescription-only). Targets active pigmentation and post-acne marks. Allow 8–12 weeks. SPF daily non-negotiable.
-
Hyalu B5 Serum 30ml — Multi-weight hyaluronic acid hydrating at different skin depths. Suitable for all skin types. The most broadly applicable serum in the range.
-
Pure Vitamin C12 Serum 30ml — Stable ascorbic acid at 12%. Use morning before SPF. Vitamin C + Anthelios is one of the strongest evidence-based combinations for photoprotection and collagen support.
How to Layer Correctly
-
Morning: Vitamin C12 or Hyalu B5 → moisturiser → Anthelios SPF50. Never skip SPF.
-
Evening: Retinol B3 or Mela B3 → moisturiser. Don’t combine retinol and vitamin C on the same night when starting out.
-
If irritation develops: Apply Cicaplast Baume B5 over retinol. Reduce frequency — don’t stop.
